Now, we could blame this on the TSA. In fact, I've got no problem blaming pretty much every problem with the current state of air travel on the TSA. But you'd think that Continental would have learned from their little fiascos a couple of years ago.
Sure, it's their regional associate, but it's still got Continental's name on the plane. It's like they don't even know about basic human compassion! Locking people on a plane for 9 hours? You've got to be fucking kidding me! Yeah, there were infants on board, but who cares? Locking anyone on a plane for 9 hours is reprehensible. But 47 people, on a regional jet? Those things have one lavatory. And not a lot of storage tank space. If you take my meaning.
I've made good on my promise to never fly Continental ever again since a similar situation took place in July of 2007. My boss actually sent me a proposed flight to get me to Boston in a couple weeks. I declined. Told him I'd make up the difference in cost if that's what it meant (found something cheaper anyway). Told him why. He's reconsidering flying them ever again as well.
Don't give them your money. Just don't do it.
Look, every airline has issues. But Continental seems to be the absolute worst. I've never heard anything so miserable about any other airline. I've experienced some bad service (I'm looking at you, American Airlines), and I tend to write off companies pretty easily when it comes to giving them my money, but this isn't a one off. This isn't a tragic coincidence. This is a systemic problem with Continental.
